BIOGRAPHY
Abel and Eade: UK-based singer-songwriter duo -- English/American alt. country.

As Powerfolk duo Abel & Eade, singer-songwriters Rosie Eade (UK) and Randy Abel (USA) bring together old songs, new songs, and stories that cross the oceans and back again, combining their love of Transatlantic Americana, Folk and Blues. Their narratives are set to a background of traditional country guitar playing and harmony singing, but with a gritty edge in places. Inspired by, & indeed covering, the likes of Johnny Cash, June Carter, Bob Dylan, Joan Baez, Townes Van Zandt, Gram Parsons and Emmylou Harris. American Randy Abel draws from his decade of experience living as a country musician in China and the quirky adventures that ensued. English Rosie Eade has had a decade of playing small folk festivals around the UK, leading to songs about her love of people, nature and gin.

Upon meeting in China in 2016, Rosie and Randy built a spirit bridge between their contentious homelands via traditional Blues, Country and Honky-tonk. Despite being eternally, hilariously separated by a common language, America and Britain yet managed to spawn the roots-infused sounds which gnarled & entwined—rose upon briar and briar upon rose —into the knotty acoustic cluster that would electrify the 20th Century! Being rooted in the 21st, Rosie and Randy speak glorious harmonies to and from these traditions with utmost passion and a bonny measure of earthy grit. Craftsperson-like, innit y’all?

Randy Abel, - Beijing-based Americana singer-songwriter moved to the UK in spring 2018. Leaving his Pennsylvanian home many moons ago, Randy's China experience has seen him affronting such originals-oriented outfits as The Randy Abel Stable (马厩乐队); The Flying Shaobing Brothers; Francophile Joint; Honky Tonk Demons; KRAW [Keep Randy Abel Weird]; Betwixt the Twain; Brothers Moving; Hawk Heik Hick; Randy Abel and the People’s Pupils; PlausAbel DeniaBilly and Light Crusted D’oh Bros. His lyrical memoir, God’s Too Drunk or Heaven’s A Chinese Honky Tonk, is currently being shopped around the bio-pulp circuit by crack literary agents of shady repute.

Rosie Eade "Folk-Pixie" , "An appealing touch of English folk influences ... clear and sonorous", (Bluesbunny, 2018). Growing up around Suffolk/Essex folk clubs, but inspired by Kate Bush and The Who as much as Steeleye Span, Rosie sings stories of people, places, and gin, written over many years gigging solo around the country, from a party in a field to Glastonbury’s Avalon Café, arranged around her love of folk, rock and thrashing her old nylon strung guitar. Her new album "Folk Pixie" celebrates her roots as a solo acoustic-folk performer with songs from the beginning of the journey to her most recent creations of 2019. "Sonically superb" (BunkFest Main Stage, 2016). "A confident and punchy acoustic rock presence", (Rock-n-Reel, 2016). www.rosieeade.co.uk
