Rosie plays a mix of carefully chosen traditional songs and thoughtful, life inspired songs of her own, all arranged around her love of folk, folk-rock and her old nylon strung guitar. Complimented by the Irish World for her first performance in the Cambridge Folk Festival club tent back in 2002, Rosie has gone on to play folk clubs and festivals all over the country including the very first Spanfest, July '07, and headlining Ely Folk Festival with folk-rock band Hedgepig, July '07.
Rosie has a colourful musical background beginning with classical/jazz training on alto saxophone, clarinet & piano before an exploration of traditional folk and subsequent self tuition of guitar, violin & whistles. She wrote her first songs while still at school, though it was with the Essex Youth Jazz Orchestra that she first began gigging, aged 15. She progressed to playing solo in local folkclubs soon after and has gone on to support a wealth of folk favourites, including Martin Carthy & Dave Swarbrick, Dave Pegg & PJ Wright, Julie Fowlis and Last Night’s Fun.
